Detroit Visit

I don't think there was a minute that was not planned while we were in Detroit but it was all worth it! We had a great time at weddings, family BBQ's, visiting with old friends and enjoying a sail on Lake St. Clair. Here are a few pictures from our time while visiting friends and family in Detroit.

Homeward Bound!

At the moment we are packing our suitcases and getting ready for our 5am flight tomorrow morning. Which means, we need to be in the car, ready to go at 3:30am. We haven't decided if we should go to bed tonight or just stay awake until the flight. Either way, we are both excited to head home for weddings, family gatherings and some R&R in Detroit, Chicago and Seattle! I will be in the US until the end of August while John will be traveling back and forth during that time. So, the blogs posts may be few and far between the next few weeks. I will try to update as much as possible while I am home.

Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

4th of July

It was quite a large gathering of Americans for the 4th July in Bangkok this year. The American Embassy along with AMCHAM and other companies and businesses in the Bangkok area sponsored the Independence Day Celebration at the American School of Bangkok. The day was filled with American food, American music, and American expats dressed in red, white and blue. It was a HOT day but we enjoyed it celebrating with friends and eating lots of food!

We headed over to another friend's place after the festivities at the American School to cool off for a bit. He has an amazing view of the city! Would have been a great place to watch fireworks-if we were in the U.S.A.

Safety Week 2009

For the sixth year in a row Siam PVS Chemicals received “The 2009 National Safety Award for Excellent Safety, Occupational Health and Working Environment”, the only Thailand major safety award organized by Ministry of Labor. There are only 107 facilities from leading companies and State Enterprises nationwide that have achieved this award six or more years in a row. The Prime Minister of Thailand, Abhisit Vejjajiva, presented the awards to these facilities in recognition to their high level of achievement on July 2nd, 2009 as part of the grand opening of The 2009 National Safety Week.

John had the honor of accepting this award on behalf of Siam PVS from the Prime Minister himself.
